China Expands Visa-Free Policy: New Countries Added to Exemption List

China's visa-free countries + 4 China has implemented a trial visa-free policy for ordinary passport holders from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain, and China's unilateral visa-free "circle of friends" has added new members.

From June 9, 2025 to June 8, 2026, ordinary passport holders from the above countries can enter China without a visa for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, and exchanges, and transit for no more than 30 days.

Together with the GCC member states of the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, which fully exempted visas from each other in 2018, China has achieved full visa-free coverage for GCC countries.

Lin Jian said that in order to further facilitate the exchange of personnel between China and foreign countries, China has decided to expand the scope of visa-free countries. From June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026, a visa-free policy will be implemented for ordinary passport holders from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Uruguay. Ordinary passport holders from the above five countries can enter China without a visa for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchanges and transit for no more than 30 days.
