Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose Powder HPMC

HPMC is the abbreviation of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose. Its appearance is a white powder, odorless and tasteless, soluble in water and most polar organic solvents and appropriate proportions of ethanol/water, propanol/water, etc.  HPMC has the characteristics of thickening, salt rejection, low ash content, PH stability, water retention, dimensional stability, excellent film-forming properties, and wide range of enzyme resistance, dispersion and adhesion.

 HPMC in the construction industry:

1. Cement mortar: Improves the dispersion of cement-sand, greatly improves the plasticity and water retention of mortar, is effective in preventing cracks, and can enhance cement strength.

2. Tile cement: Improve the plasticity and water retention of pressed tile mortar, improve the adhesive strength of tiles, and prevent powdering.

3. Coating of refractory materials such as asbestos: as a suspension stabilizer and fluidity improver, it also improves the bonding strength to the substrate.

4. Gypsum concrete slurry: Improve water retention and processability, and improve adhesion to the substrate.

12. Others: It can be used as a bubble retaining agent (PC version) for thin clay sand mortar and plaster construction operators.
