Uses of Sodium Hydrosulfite:
Sodium Hydrosulfite, chemically known as sodium dithionite (Na₂S₂O₄), is mainly used in the textile industry for reduction dyeing, bleaching, decolorization and dechlorination. In the textile industry, sodium hydrosulfite is often used for reduction dyeing, reduction cleaning, printing and decolorization. It is particularly suitable for bleaching of silk, wool, nylon and other fabrics because it does not contain heavy metals. The bleached fabrics are bright in color and not easy to fade. In addition, sodium hydrosulfite also has a strong reducing property and is easily oxidized in the air.
1. Printing and dyeing auxiliaries and bleaching agents: used for reduction dyeing and cotton and silk bleaching, wool and leather bleaching, etc.
2. Newsprint bleaching agent: used for bleaching newsprint.
3. Food bleaching agent: sodium hydrosulfite is non-toxic and harmless. It is an internationally approved food bleaching agent and can be used for bleaching gelatin, sucrose, candied fruit, etc.
4. Sewage treatment: Used to treat sewage containing high-valent heavy metal ions or organic chlorine.
Precautions for use: When using insurance powder, it is necessary to note that its reducing properties may have a destructive effect on certain dyes, and avoid contact with air during use to prevent oxidation. In addition, insurance powder has a significant stripping ability in an alkaline environment, and the best effect is when the pH is 8-9, and the reducing ability will decrease when it exceeds 10.
