Description of Potassium Sorbate:

1. Potassium sorbate is made from sorbic acid and potassium hydroxide through neutralization reaction. It has all the basic properties of sorbic acid except solubility.

2. Potassium sorbate is a white or off-white granule or powder, which is easy to absorb moisture and is very unstable in the air. It is easy to oxidize and turn brown, but it is relatively stable to light and heat, and it will melt and decompose at about270°C. The pH value of 1% aqueous solution is 7-8.
